Top Ten Fastest Cars In The World

Do you have the need for speed? If so, you may be interested in doing whatever you can to obtain one of these extravagant machines (including, but not limited to, selling a kidney).  This is a list of the top ten fastest street legal production cars in the world.

Gumpert Apollo

Top Speed: 225 mph (362 km/h)

0-60 Time: 3.0 seconds

Price: $450,000

Gumpert claims that you could drive upside-down in a tunnel if you are going at least 190 mph due to the amount of down force this car produces. Of course, nobody has tested this claim yet. The uniquely designed car boasts a 4.2 liter V8 capable of producing 650 hp.

Zenvo St1

Top Speed: 233 mph (374 km/h)

0-60 Time: 2.9 seconds

Price: $1.23 million

The Zenvo St1 is the first 100% Danish made super car in the world. Although not many people have heard of the Zenvo ST1, that is about to change. The ST1 produces 1104 hp from a twin supercharged 7.0 liter V8. Initially only 15 units will be made available. Another interesting fact about this car is, if you ever need someone to work on it, Zenvo will fly out one of their own mechanics to perform the work wherever you are in the world.

McLaren F1

Top Speed: 240 mph (386 km/h)

0-60 Time: 3.2 seconds

Price: $970,000

The McLaren F1 is the fastest car of the 20th century. The driver in this car sits right in the center, giving him the best perspective possible of the road ahead.

Koenigsegg CCX

Top Speed: 245 mph (394 km/h)

0-60 Time: 3.2 seconds

Price: $545,568

The Koenigsegg CCX is the older version of the Agera R, however, don’t think it is a slouch by any means. Made in Sweden, the CCX comes with a V12 engine with a peak power output of 806 hp.

Saleen S7 Twin Turbo

Top Speed: 248 mph (399 km/h)

0-60 Time: 2.8 seconds

Price: $555,000

The Saleen S7 is all about details. This car promises a smooth driving experience from start to finish. Both the horsepower and torque curves on this 750 hp machine are pretty linear.

9ff GT9

Top Speed: 257 mph (413 km/h)

0-60 Time: 2.9 seconds

Price: $695,000

The 9ff GT9 is based on the Porsche 911. The 9ff GT9 utilizes a twin-turbo 4.0 liter V6 engine. Where the 9ff GT9 really excels is in handling.

SCC Ultimate Aero

Top Speed: 257 mph (413 km/h)

0-60 Time: 2.7 seconds

Price: $654,400

Perhaps, the best value for your money on this list the American-made SCC Ultimate Aero generates 1183 hp from a twin-turbo V8 engine while coming in significantly less than $1 million. The SCC Ultimate Aero was the fastest car in the world between March 2007 to July 2010.

Koenigsegg Agera R

Top Speed: 260 mph (418 km/h)

0-60 Time: 2.9 seconds

Price: $1.65 million

The Koenigsegg Agera R comes equipped with a 5.0 liter V8 engine capable of outputting 1099 hp. Interestingly enough the Agera R was designed with the intention of being able to drive on snow and ice, not that we would particularly recommend doing so. To prove their point, you can order an optional ski box to mount to the car.

Hennessey Venom GT

Top Speed: 260 mph (418 km/h)

0-60 Time: 2.5 seconds

Price: $950,000

The Hennessey Venom GT uses the same V8 6.2 liter engine as found in the Chevy Corvette, but completely overhauled. The LS9 engine is paired up with twin turbos capable of producing 1200 hp.

Bugatti Veyron Super Sport

Top Speed: 267 mph (429 km/h)

0-60 Time: 2.4 seconds

Price: $2.4 million

The 8 liter W16 aluminum narrow angle engine produces over 1200 hp. The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport is the new and improved version of the original Buggatti Veyron. If you don’t need quite as much speed, the original Veyron sells for $1.7 million and still offers 1001 hp.
