According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics the projected fastest growing occupations from 2010 to 2020 will be:


Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
 The second highest median income in this list at $64,380, Diagnostic Medical Sonographers will see an estimated increase in demand of 43.5 percent.


Meeting, Convention, and Event Planners 
There is an estimated need for an additional 43,700 Meeting, Convention, and Event Planners within the decade.


The demand for plumbers during the next decade will rise by 45.4 percent.


Physical Therapist Assistants
There will be an estimated additional 30,800 jobs for Physical Therapist Assistants during this time frame.


Iron and Rebar Workers
Strangely enough, the Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that there will be a 48.6 percent increase in Iron and Rebar Workers.



Veterinary Technicians and Technologists
There will be demand for an estimated additional 41,700 vet techs in the time frame of the next ten years resulting in a 52.0 percent increase.


General Laborers
There is an estimated increase of 17,600 jobs for general laborers over the course of the next ten years.


Biomedical Engineers
The highest median salary on the list at $81,540, Biomedical Engineer positions are estimated to increase by 61.7 percent.


Home Health Aides
Over the next decade the number of Home Health Aides is estimated to grow by 700,000 jobs.


Personal Care Aides
Personal Care Aides top this list with a projected job growth of 70.5 percent from 2010 to 2020. Currently 800,000 people are in this occupation.
