Top Ten Summer Perfumes 2013

With so many different perfumes and fragrances out there it can be hard deciding on which one to buy. To help narrow down your options, we have put together a list of the top ten summer perfumes.

See by Cholé was released late last year. It is best described as being urban and trendy. The fragrance itself is chic, elegant, and a nice combination of floral and fruity. It starts off being light and bright, but makes a strong statement.

Marc Jacobs

Released last summer, Hibiscus by Marc Jacobs is a seductive and exotic fragrance. The perfume opens with raspberry, mandarin, and pink peony, leading into the tropical core of hibiscus flowers, pink freesia, and tiare. The base notes are woody and elegant, made of exotic woods, vetiver, and a sweet musk. It is great for casual wear during the day.

Elizabeth Arden

Having been around since early 2009, Pretty by Elizabeth Arden has quickly become a classic. The scent is quite refreshing and unlike many other perfumes on the market. It will be sure to make you stand out and cause others to ask you what you are wearing. The opening notes combine refreshing breezes of Italian mandarin and organize blossoms mixed with light peach. The heart is floral and gentle by combining petalia, starry jasmine, and pink lily and peony. The base notes are mellow, composed of musk, Jacaranda wood, and creamy amber. It is a very versatile perfume, perfect either for casual wear or even more formal events, as it walks the line between the two.

Fendi Pallazo Eau de Parfum

Fendi Pallazo Eau de Parfum is the ultimate combination of strong woody scents and floral compositions. It opens with mandarin and bergamot, with a slight touch of pink pepper and then moves to jasmine and rose for the middle notes. The base is woodsy and combines patchouli and warm sandal wood. The only downside is it can be somewhat difficult to track down as it was only produced in limited quantity.

Yellow Diamond

First appearing on the market in 2011, Yellow Diamond by Versace was specifically crafted as a pure, transparent, airy fragrance that features rich floral scents. The fragrance opens with an intense lemon freshness, combined with bergamont, neorli, and pear sorbet. The middle tones feature airy orange blossom, freesia, mimosa, and water lily. The base tones close with amber, musk, and guaic wood. Everything about Yellow Diamond screams luxury. It is an easily identifiable scent that speaks status. It is great to wear for a night out or to any formal event.

Stella McCartney

Summer by Stella McCartney is a new fragrance released this year. It succeeds last year’s edition Stella Summer Rose, which was a wonderful fragrance in itself. Summer offers luminous and cold notes of frozen lemon combined with the aromas of green apple. The middle notes are floral featuring rose and peony, resting on a strong base note of warm amber. If you loved last year’s edition you will surely love this one. It has been described as being very similar, but a little softer and more refined.

Having been around since 2009, the name of this perfume by Gucci speaks for itself. Floral notes surround everything about this fragrance. The top notes combine citrus and peony, the middle notes are enriched with rose and osmanthus, and base notes combine patchouli and sandalwood. The perfume is very flirty and fun. It is aimed at primarily younger customers and gives of an aura of sensuality and vitality. It is a great day-time perfume to wear both during the spring and summer.

Incanto Charms

Salvatore Ferregamo

Incanto Charms is a limited edition perfume released several years back. It is an exotic fruity-floral fragrance that combines passion fruit, honeysuckle, ad jasmine. Right now at several online retailers they are clearing out their inventories and can be picked up at phenomenal prices. It is a very free-spirited, feminine, and glamorous fragrance all combined into one.

L’Eau d’Issey Pour L’Ete

Issey Miyake

L’Eau d’Issey Pour L’Ete is a limited edition summer perfume for 2013. It is perhaps the most unique of all the fragrances of this list. It is somewhat oriental in nature and combines a number of exotic ingredients to provide a scent with strong marine undertones. The perfume opens with fruity notes of pink grapefruit and litchi, then moves to guava and passion fruit in the middle, and finishes with vanilla and a combination of exotic woods at the base. It is very refreshing and great for warm weather or a day at the beach.

Candy L’Eau

Candy L’Eau is a new scent released by the Prada fashion house this April. The fragrance is described as being both seductive, flirty, and playful, while emitting radiance and class. It opens with a sparkle of Italian citrus, then moves to a floral heart with a hint of sweet pea, and finished strong with a combination of benzoin, white musk, and caramel. Despite being sweet, it is still light enough and wearable. If you are looking for a new scent to try this summer, this definitely the top one to check out.
